“Just a Thought”

Among many of the wonderful things the Bible teaches is this simple truth. You are not an accident of nature; mere flotsam upon the sea of time. You are created by God, and you have been made in His image and likeness. However corrupt, unclean or plain rotten you may feel, as a human being there is something of the image and likeness of God resident within you and waiting to be brought to life and fulness through the work of Jesus Christ and the fantastic Holy Spirit.

In all the years I have been involved in ministry and service I have not yet read that God made a failure. In fact the Bible says that "God saw all that He had made, and it was very good ..." (see Genesis chapter 1 verse 31). Now if God says something is "good" then you know it is just what He said. When He declares something to be "very good" then you know it is exceptional, extraordinary and fantastic. Yet that is just what He has said about what HE has made.

So when someone at school declares that "You'll never amount to anything". When some of those long forgotten fears suddenly return to haunt your mind with doubts. When financial insecurity or medical emergency explodes into your life and threatens to take away your security, or even your hold on life. Remember this. God never made a failure yet, and He certainly isn't about to start with you.

King David, who in some ways was an abused child, to the extent that he wasn't even invited to the family feast at which he was the most important participant. He was cruelly spoken to and treated by his older brothers. Yet turned his own insecurities into a positive declaration when years later as king of Israel he says of The Lord his God, "He rescued me from my powerful enemy, from my foes who were too strong for me. They confronted me in the day of my disaster, but the Lord was my support. He brought me out to a spacious place; He rescued me because He delighted in me." (Psalm 18 verses 17-19). The same Lord delights in you too and wants to bring you to a spacious, a larger and more fulfilling place, and to a place of great success.

You will come through. You will succeed. You can conquer those fears, that problem. You can pass that examination. Why? Simply because you are designed with success in mind. Remember that through today and through this week, and may God's blessing flow abundantly into your life."

Much love
Pastor Sonny.
